MBN Women's Sports Grand Prize
Speed skating Kim Min-sun and disabled alpine skiing Choi Sa-ra won the MVP award in January and February at the 2024 MBN Women's Sports Awards.
In January, Kim set a new Korean record of 1:13:42, in the second race of women's 1,000-meter race in the fifth round of the ISU Speed Skating World Cup held in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has advanced the previous Korean record of 1:13:66, which Lee Sang-hwa set in 10 years. Kim won three gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal in this season's World Cup, and ranked second in the women's 500-meter rankings.
Choi Sa-ra (visually disabled, guide Jung Sang-hyun), who was the youngest member of the national alpine ski team at the 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics, ranked first (1:14:99) in the women's alpine skiing slalom race at the Paralympic Winter Games in February. In January, she also won two gold medals in the downhill and super competitions of the 2024 Cortina d'Ampezzo International Ski Federation (FIS) Paralympic Alpine Ski World Cup.
