Withdrew from his return match in 10 months due to "cold symptoms."
Woods finished the sixth hole in the second round of the PGA Tour Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club (par 71) in Palisades, California on the 17th (Korea time) and took a tee shot on the seventh hole before returning to the club house in a cart.
After Woods entered the club house, an ambulance was dispatched, but he returned without carrying a patient.
The reason for the withdrawal was unknown, causing questions from on-site reporters, but Woods' friend and business partner Rob McNamara announced that "Woods gave up the tournament due to cold symptoms."
"Woods had a slight fever, but he was fine when he warmed up," McNamara said. "However, his condition deteriorated to the point where he felt a sense of dedication at the start of the game."
Woods has been preparing to return after undergoing ankle surgery after withdrawing from the Masters tournament in a major tournament in April last year.
In the first round the previous day, Woods confessed that he had back spasms from the 16th hole, and in the 18th hole, he made a shank that was rare for professional players.
After finishing the first round with one over par and 72 strokes, Woods lost one stroke with one birdie and two bogeys through the sixth hole in the second round. Woods put his tee shot on the fairway at the seventh hole, but expressed his intention to abstain to the referee.
